On Friday, Shenandoah beat North Knox 51-44. Given Shenandoah's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while North Knox is ranked 366th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shenandoah's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zane Mitchell led the charge by scoring ten points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for him. Haygen Tomlinson was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Shenandoah's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for North Knox, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Shenandoah will be home for the holidays to greet Indianapolis Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Knox won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rushville on December 23rd. Rushville is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
