Westville is a perfect 8-0 against Culver Community since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Blackhawks will venture away from home to square off against the Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. Westville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Westville had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Kouts on Monday. The Blackhawks were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Mustangs & Fillies.

Kierstin Vargas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Miranda Sparks, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season. Kiersten Vaughan was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one double.
Westville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Culver Community came up short against Winamac on Tuesday and fell 9-6.
Culver Community saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kalli England, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Culver Community has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Westville, their record is now 5-1.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Westville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .394. However, it's not like Culver Community struggles in that department as they've averaged .376. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Westville skirted past Culver Community 3-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Blackhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
