The Page Sand Devils will square off against the Taos Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
If Page beats Taos with 15 runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Page blew past Dolores 15-5 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Sand Devils, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Wyatt Tallman tossed a big game, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cole Tate was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Yazzie, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.
Page always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Taos). They walked away with a 16-11 victory over Bayfield on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.
Daniel Martinez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Taos' success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 3-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Sonny Abeyta, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
The win was the third in a row for Page, bringing their record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Taos, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Page hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .361. However, it's not like Taos struggles in that department as they've averaged .367. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
