Pacheco and Central Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Pacheco is looking for their season's first win.
Pacheco came up short against Lathrop on Wednesday, falling 20-2.
Isabella Chavez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central Valley). They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over Grace Davis on Wednesday. With that victory, the Hawks brought their scoring average up to 8 runs per game.
Brooklynn Steeley was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Gabriela Delatorre and Selah Chesney did most of the damage at the plate: Delatorre went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases, while Chesney went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Delatorre has posted since back in February of 2025. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Morales, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Central Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .707. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Pacheco's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Central Valley, their record is now 2-5.
Pacheco suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Central Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
