It was a good run, but the Central Cobras unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 59-52 to Centennial. Central has not had much luck with Centennial recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Loss or not, Central got some senior leadership from HARMON RANDOLPH who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals and AQUNAIS WEST who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The match was RANDOLPH's fourth in a row with at least ten points. CHAU DAVIS was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 3 steals.
Even though they lost, Central were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centennial only pulled down 13.
Centennial found their leader in underclassman Jailyn Williams, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Williams' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jakenzye McBride, who scored 16 points along with 4 steals.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Centennial, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will square off against Jensen Beach at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Jensen Beach will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Central is ranked 114th). As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to face off against Palm Beach Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
