Stamford has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Ridgefield Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stamford knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Ridgefield likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Stamford faced Staples in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Stamford had just enough and edged Staples out 60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Ejai Presley, who scored 24 points along with six assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Connors, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Ridgefield waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They blew past Norwalk 62-41. Ridgefield has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.
Stamford pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of four points across that stretch. As for Ridgefield, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
Stamford came up short against Ridgefield in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 53-42. Can Stamford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
