The South Plantation Paladins and the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the South Plantation Paladins had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 64-63 to the Jaguars. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Paladins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaiden Francis, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Dwight Stephens, who scored 17 points.
Pembroke Pines Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ramez Zayed, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Josh Harris was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.
South Plantation's defeat dropped their record down to 24-5. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.
South Plantation is on the road again on Thursday and plays Blanche Ely at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th. Pembroke Pines Charter's road trip will continue as they head out to face Boyd Anderson at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th. Pembroke Pines Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 24 matches -- so hopefully Boyd Anderson likes a good challenge.
