While losing is never fun, Bullitt East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Whitefield Academy is ranked 17th).
Whitefield Academy was led to victory by Sara Ritter and Gwynnie Franz. Ritter scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds, while Franz scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. Ritter is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Allison Spieker was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Bullitt East's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Whitefield Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Bullitt East will be playing in front of their home fans against Fern Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Whitefield Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Holy Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
