Dilley is 0-4 against Hondo since November of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dilley Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Hondo Owls at 7:30 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Dilley and seven for Hondo.
Dilley suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 95-59 loss at the hands of Crystal City. While losing is never fun, Dilley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1501st, while Crystal City is ranked 672nd).
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Hondo, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-48 loss to Natalia on Friday.
Dilley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Hondo, they dropped their record down to 7-21 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Dilley was dealt a bruising 92-59 loss at the hands of Hondo when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Dilley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
