Winfield is 7-0 against Scott since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Winfield Generals will be playing at home against the Scott Skyhawks at 2:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Wednesday, Winfield lost to St. Albans on the road by a decisive 57-39 margin. Winfield has not had much luck with St. Albans recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ashlee Johnson, who scored six points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Cole, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Scott's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They suffered a tough 68-48 loss at the hands of Chapmanville Regional.
Winfield's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Scott, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Winfield strolled past Scott in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 61-42. Will Winfield repeat their success, or does Scott have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
