The biggest upset of the week belonged to Fowler, who defeated 661st ranked Caruthers, 32-25. James Silva threw for 123 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 90 yards during the win.
The Redcats scaled the state rankings by moving to 749 from 780 this week, the biggest jump in West Sequoia. Fowler was able to move up by topping the Blue Raiders 32-25.
Jackson Soares was a key player and the best on defense this week as Minarets defeated Laton. The 5-foot-11 senior recorded 1 fumble and racked up 2 sacks.
Silva put up the best numbers in passing as Steve Nelson's team bested Caruthers. Silva's favorite target this week was Blake Brisco, who caught 5 passes for 76 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Redcats' Silva and Brisco have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-9 quarterback Silva has thrown for 1,237 yards this season, while Brisco has 43 catches for 700 yards. The Mustangs' Zak Clayton leads the league in rushing yards with 545.
Fowler added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Tom Casanova's team, 32-25. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
