Baseball Recap: Highland Has No Trouble Against Midland

Highland won the last time they faced Midland and things went their way on Monday too. The Rebels blew past the Mustangs 12-5. Considering the Rebels have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Mason Sinclair was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted over his last five contests.

In other batting news, Highland let James Jensen and Adam Munroe run wild. Jensen scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Munroe scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Munroe a new career-high. Tayson Brink was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases.

Highland's victory bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Midland, they moved to 12-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland will host Blytheville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Midland, they will welcome Concord at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
