The Memorial Red Devils will be playing at home against the Liberty Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Memorial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
After a string of five wins, Memorial's good fortune finally ran out. They fell to LaBrae 55-51.
The losing side was boosted by Aziyah Flores, who scored 19 points along with two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Teyon Harris, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds.
Liberty can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-43 victory over Champion. The win was just what Liberty needed coming off of a 75-33 loss in their prior matchup.
Memorial's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5. As for Liberty, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16.
Memorial was able to grind out a solid victory over Liberty in their previous meeting back in January, winning 55-45. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Liberty's Evan Bates, who scored 21 points along with two steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Memorial still be able to contain Bates? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
