Las Plumas waltzed into their contest on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. Everything went their way against the Gridley Bulldogs as they made off with a 13-4 win. The Thunderbirds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.
Kyler Storey tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Brooklyn Atteberry was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adalyna Medrano, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Las Plumas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gridley only managed four hits.
Las Plumas' victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Gridley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
