On Friday DeKalb take on Southwest/Hale/Tina-Avalon at 7:00 PM. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Everything went DeKalb's way against Chilhowee/Leeton last week as they made off with a 34-6 win. Junior Wyatt Ashpaugh, who accumulated 101 passing yards and picked up 32 yards on the ground, was a major factor in DeKalb's success.
Meanwhile, Southwest/Hale/Tina-Avalon took the matchup and then some with a 68-22 victory. The Southwest/Hale/Tina-Avalon offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the contest anyway.
Their wins bumped DeKalb to 1-1 and Southwest/Hale/Tina-Avalon to 2-0. With both DeKalb and Southwest/Hale/Tina-Avalon swaggering in after impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team steps up to teach the other some humility.
