The Ainsworth Bulldogs entered their tilt with the West Holt Huskies with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Ainsworth walked away with a 48-41 victory over West Holt on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Ainsworth also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ainsworth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Traegan McNally, who scored 20 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which McNally has scored at least 25% of Ainsworth's points. Another player making a difference was Trey Appelt, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds.
West Holt's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lincoln Konrad, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds, and Zach Hooey who scored 13 points. The game was Konrad's third in a row with at least ten points.
Ainsworth's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for West Holt, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ainsworth will take on Valentine at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valentine has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for West Holt, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Burwell at 7:00 p.m.
