The third road match was the charm for Thales Academy Apex, as they earned their first away victory of the season. Everything went their way against the Neuse Christian Academy Lions on Thursday as they made off with a 24-9 win. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Thales Academy Apex got a massive performance out of Madeline Wehrenberg, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Lamborn, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Wehrenberg wasn't the only one making solid contact: Thales Academy Apex kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Neuse Christian Academy only managed two hits.
Thales Academy Apex's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Neuse Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-7-1 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
