Kaw Valley recap November 5, 2013
Jordan Jackson and Jonah Freese provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Spring Hill. The longest such play in Kaw Valley this season, the connection resulted in 88 yards.
Travon Jones of Piper ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against Bishop Ward last week. Jones ran for 85 yards on the play and finished with 119 on the day as his team defeated the Cyclones.
Bonner Springs's dynamic duo of Jackson and Freese proved to be unstoppable against the Broncos, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Jackson threw for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns and Freese had 200 yards receiving. Weston Vitt helped Bonner Springs' passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 22 yards.
Logan Koch was a force in the backfield as Mill Valley bested Lansing.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Lions' Krystian Abbott and Khalil Bailey have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-10 quarterback Abbott has thrown for 2,450 yards this season, while Bailey has 49 catches for 1,321 yards. Tonganoxie's Cole Holloway leads the league in rushing yards with 1,218.
He has recorded 73 catches for 929 yards this year.
The Jaguars extended the longest winning streak in Kaw Valley this week by beating Lansing, 68-8. The win marks ninth in a row for the Mill Valley.
