Olympia can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They breezed by Freedom at home to the tune of 48-8. Given Olympia's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Freedom is ranked 379th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Olympia's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Romelo Ware, who rushed for 94 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Ware was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 63 yards. Juan Gainous was another key contributor, throwing for 164 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 64 points the game before, West Orange were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a 10-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dr. Phillips.
The win makes it two in a row for Olympia and bumps their season record up to 6-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 Freedom (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for West Orange, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
