Lakewood unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were just a bucket shy of victory  on Wednesday and fell  47-46 to the Campbell Sabers.
 Despite the loss, Lakewood still got an impressive performance from   Alaina Jones, who  scored eight points plus 13  rebounds and three  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Janelle Bagtas, who  earned ten points in addition to three  steals.
 Campbell's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.
 Lakewood is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they face off against  Nooksack Valley  at 7:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Campbell, they will face off against Roosevelt at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday.
