The LaVille Lancers will take on the Knox Redskins at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. LaVille will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
LaVille's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Argos 14-0. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.
Andre Gonzales made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, earning two RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other pitching news, Collin Czarnecki looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Caleb Howard was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Wolford, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.
Meanwhile, Knox suffered their closest loss since May 4, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Washington Township by a score of 7-5. The Redskins have struggled against the Senators recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.
Bryson Venice made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
LaVille's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Knox, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
LaVille beat Knox 9-6 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Redskins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
