Central Magnet pushed their score all the way to 60 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marshall County. Central Magnet was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Marshall County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.
Leading Marshall County to victory were Jamahl Gentry and Jabrae Howard. Gentry scored 21 points along with two steals, while Howard scored 24 points. Gentry is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Xavier Mosley, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Central Magnet has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Marshall County, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Magnet will take on Tullahoma at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marshall County, Marshall County and Giles County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Giles County is ranked 152nd, while Marshall County is ranked 132nd).
