It was a good run, but the Aurora Houn Dawgs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They were the victim of a tough 83-62 defeat at the hands of Lebanon. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Monday (59), Aurora still had to take the loss.
Lebanon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kelby Vandergrift, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The match was Vandergrift's third in a row with at least ten points. Kory Hough was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Aurora's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Lebanon, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Aurora will head out on the road to face off against Purdy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Purdy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Lebanon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bolivar at 5:30 p.m. on December 29th. Bolivar will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Lebanon is ranked 84th).
