Wausa/Osmond will challenge the Crofton Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Crofton will be up against a hot Wausa/Osmond team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. Everything went Wausa/Osmond's way against Hartington-Newcastle on Friday as they made off with a 50-24 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Wausa/Osmond's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Hartington-Newcastle is ranked 63rd).

Wausa/Osmond's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Mac Carlson, who rushed for 152 yards and three scores on only 12 carries, and Matthew Schindler, who rushed for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries. That's the most rushing yards Carlson has posted since back in August of 2024.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wausa/Osmond was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 332 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 164 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Crofton over Niobrara/Verdigre in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Warriors blew the Cougars out of the water with a 66-20 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-12.
Wausa/Osmond better keep an eye on Tyson Jackson. He was instrumental in Crofton's win, rushing for 180 yards and five TDs on only eight carries. Jackson's longest rush was for an impressive 68 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Grant Jordan was another key player, gaining 139 total yards and a touchdown.
Crofton's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Wausa/Osmond, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Wausa/Osmond has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 257.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Crofton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 314.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Wausa/Osmond took a serious blow against Crofton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 54-6. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wausa/Osmond was down 46-0.
