The Cohasset Skippers entered their tilt with the Manchester Essex Hornets with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Cohasset came out on top against Manchester Essex by a score of 35-28 on Friday.
Cohasset's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liam Appleton, who gained 129 total yards and a touchdown, and also threw for four yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Gus Greene, who rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Cohasset's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.0 points per game. As for Manchester Essex, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cohasset has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Mashpee at 6:00 p.m. on November 10th. Manchester Essex will take on Triton Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Triton Regional comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
