The Banks County Leopards will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Fellowship Christian Paladins at 7:30 p.m. The timing isn't great for Banks County: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Fellowship Christian has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
Last Friday, Banks County was beaten by Athens Academy 56-27. While losing is never fun, Banks County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Athens Academy is ranked 108th).
Banks County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aaron Scott, who rushed for 282 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.4 yards per carry, and Aucy Jacobs who rushed for 214 yards and two touchdowns. Scott was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards.
Meanwhile, Fellowship Christian can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Providence Christian Academy 73-39 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-18.
Banks County's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Fellowship Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Banks County was dealt a bruising 42-7 loss at the hands of Fellowship Christian when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Banks County have more luck at home instead of on the road?
