The Venus Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Alvarado 52-23. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Venus in their matchups with Alvarado: they've now lost nine in a row.
It was another big night for Joslyn Jarmon, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds for Alvarado. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jarmon has scored at least 25% of Alvarado's points. Candra Bridgewater was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Venus bumped their record down to 9-12 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Alvarado, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-11.
