In what's become a running theme this season, the Holy Family Tigers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 79-16 victory over Greeley Central. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-14.
Leading Holy Family to victory were Julia Hodell and Essynce Contreraz. Hodell scored 11 points along with five steals, while Contreraz scored 12 points along with eight assists and six steals. Contreraz has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Alexcia Oaxaca was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Greeley Central struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Holy Family racked up 23 assists.
The win (which was Holy Family's fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Greeley Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
Holy Family will head out on the road to take on the Warriors at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Centaurus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Wednesday. As for Greeley Central, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Trojans at 11:30 a.m.
