South Pointe hasn't had much luck against York recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Stallions will venture away from home to challenge the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in South Pointe's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, South Pointe turned things around against Richland Northeast on Friday. They came out on top against the Cavaliers by a score of 18-15. The Stallions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Sydney Campbell was incredible, getting on base in four of her seven plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Kennedy Mack was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, York came tearing into Thursday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Blue Devils 9-1. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Layla Clayton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Natalie Dover, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Marisa Reyes, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
York kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive contests.
York pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for South Pointe, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 2-11.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. South Pointe hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like York struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
South Pointe might still be hurting after the 24-2 loss they got from York in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Stallions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
