The Grace Christian Crusaders can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They secured a 74-69 W over North Raleigh Christian Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grace Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ma'Kyi Butler, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Butler is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Jimmy Zimmerman was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why North Raleigh Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brennen Jefferson. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Dickerson, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Even though they lost, North Raleigh Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grace Christian only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Grace Christian now has a winning record of 12-11. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.
Grace Christian will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Riverside Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. Riverside Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 550th, while Grace Christian is ranked 211th). As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Cape Fear Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
