The win was all the more spectacular given Mercyhurst Prep's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 93rd).
Erie First Christian Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Mercyhurst Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.
