Newtown can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They pulled ahead with a 67-66 photo finish over Torrington.
Meanwhile, Darien came up short against Harding on Wednesday and fell 69-58.
Newtown's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Darien, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Newtown didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Darien when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 58-52 victory. Will Newtown repeat their success, or does Darien have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
