Mansfield Timberview is 3-0 against Adams since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Mansfield Timberview Wolves will be playing at home against the Adams Cougars at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Mansfield Timberview's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Adams has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
While it was all tied up 21-21 at halftime, Mansfield Timberview was not quite Richland's equal in the second half on Friday. Mansfield Timberview took a 37-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Richland.
Despite their defeat, Mansfield Timberview saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jaylon Woods, who rushed for 64 yards and three touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Woods is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Cameron Bates was another key contributor, gaining 97 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-7, which was the final score in Adams' tilt against Birdville on Saturday. Adams was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Adams' loss came about despite a quality game from Jacori Luckey, who rushed for 176 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Luckey really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.
Mansfield Timberview's loss dropped their record down to 8-1, while Adams' bumped their own down to the opposite: 1-8.
Everything came up roses for Mansfield Timberview against Adams in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 65-6 win. Does Mansfield Timberview have another victory up their sleeve, or will Adams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
