Cottonwood was the 43-38 winner over Tooele when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cottonwood Colts were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 48-47 to the Tooele Buffaloes. The Colts' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Several Colts players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carley Caton, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Avea Van Der Beek, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points.

Tooele's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macie Gustin, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Gustin has posted since back in February of 2024. Halle Hogan was another key player, putting up 13 points and five steals.

Cottonwood's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-3. As for Tooele, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

Cottonwood has already played their next game, a 60-38 win against Hillcrest on the 10th. As for Tooele, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 54-46 victory against Murray on the 10th.
