Poynette entered their tilt with Merrill on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Bluejays by a score of 7-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pumas also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Poynette pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Merrill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Poynette has already played their next game, a 6-0 win against West Salem on the 26th. As for Merrill, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-13 victory against La Crosse Logan on the 26th.
