Amherst and Morton are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Amherst Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Morton Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Amherst is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Amherst suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 last Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Whitharral, falling 62-33. Meanwhile, Morton unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Whitharral by a score of 51-48. Morton has not had much luck with Whitharral recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Amherst has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Morton, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6.
Amherst didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Morton in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 53-49 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Amherst since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
