3A South Central recap September 17, 2013
Lewis-Palmer and Rampart played the most contested game in 3A South Central this week, with Lewis-Palmer eventually emerging with a 34-31 victory. Paul Tillotson threw for 101 yards and ran for 60 yards during the win.
Mitchell fell to The Classical Academy 56-22 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Alec Wirtjes put up the best numbers in passing as Discovery Canyon lost to Elizabeth. He finished with 10 completions for 121 yards. Wirtjes' favorite target this week was Michael Beiswenger, who caught 3 passes for 60 yards.
Sam Smith was the best wideout in the league this week as Coronado defeated Pueblo Central. Smith tallied 6 receptions for 119 yards.
Austin Micci was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 9 carries, he ran for 137 yards as the Cougars beat the Wildcats. Teammate Isaah Duvall added to the ground attack by rushing for 94 yards.
Tillotson was a passing and rushing force as the Rangers defeated the Rams. Tillotson's favorite target this week was Jonathan Scott, who caught 5 passes for 75 yards.
Wesley Edmund was a key player and the best on defense this week as Coronado beat Pueblo Central. The 5-foot-10 sophomore.
Bobby Lizarraga's team led 3A South Central in scoring this week by notching 43 points on Zach Odell's team. Micci in the win.
