Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Oxford

Oxford won the last time they faced Southaven and things went their way on Friday too. The Oxford Chargers walked away with a 61-52 victory over the Southaven Chargers. That's two games straight that Oxford has won by exactly nine points.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caden Johnson, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Hammond, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

The win was the third in a row for Oxford, bringing their record for this year to 8-2. As for Southaven, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Oxford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 83-70 defeat against Horn Lake on the 10th. As for Southaven, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-48 loss against Lewisburg on the 10th.
