The Bakersfield Lions's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They strolled past Lighthouse Christian with points to spare, taking the game 78-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Lighthouse Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lee Stinson, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Nigh, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Lighthouse Christian were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Bakersfield has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Lighthouse Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Bakersfield will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Thayer at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Lighthouse Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tournament Opponent on January 11th.
