Football Recap: Dalton Piles Up the Points Against Woodland

Dalton lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Woodland, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. The Catamounts blew past the Wildcats 49-0 on Thursday. That 49 point margin sets a new team best for the Catamounts this season.

A big part of Dalton's win came down to the chemistry between Caine Woods and his top target Nash Smith. Woods threw for 177 yards and four touchdowns while Smith rushed for 137 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. What's more, Woods racked up 143.9 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August.

Dalton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Damoni Black.

Dalton's record is now 3-7. As for Woodland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Looking ahead, after each having a week off, Dalton and Creekside will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on the 14th. The Seminoles' defense has only allowed seven points per game this season, so the Catamounts' offense will have their work cut out for them. Woodland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
