Make it five blowout wins for the Roxboro Community Bulldogs this season. They blew past Excelsior Classical Academy 53-3 at home. That 50 points margin sets a new team best for Roxboro Community this season.
Roxboro Community was led to victory by Karrie Obie and Katherine-kaey "katie" Mann. Obie scored 21 points along with three steals, while Mann scored 20 points along with eight steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mann has scored at least a third of Roxboro Community's points. Another player making a difference was Robin Puryear, who scored six points along with four steals.
Roxboro Community now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roxboro Community will challenge Henderson Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Henderson Collegiate comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Oxford Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oxford Prep is on a three-game streak of home losses, Excelsior Classical Academy a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
