The Wahoo Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Waverly Vikings on Thursday. Wahoo knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Waverly likes a good challenge.
Last Saturday, Wahoo beat Lincoln Lutheran 63-51.
Wahoo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dylan Simons, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Simons is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Glock, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Waverly was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 49-44 to Bennington.
The losing side was boosted by Reece Bader, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nathan Axmann, who scored nine points.
Wahoo's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.24 points. As for Waverly, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Wahoo beat Waverly 47-37 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wahoo since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
