Tipton is 8-2 against Lewis Cass since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Tipton Blue Devils will be home for the holidays to greet the Lewis Cass Kings at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tipton has six straight wins, Lewis Cass has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Covenant Christian scored an imposing 57 points on Saturday, Tipton still came out on top. Tipton was the clear victor by a 79-57 margin over Covenant Christian. Given Tipton's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Covenant Christian is ranked 68th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grady Carpenter and Nolan Swan were among the main playmakers for Tipton as the former dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 assists and the latter scored 26 points along with five assists and four steals. The matchup was Swan's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Jackson Money was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Lewis Cass suffered a tough 63-43 defeat at the hands of Peru on Saturday.
Tipton pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Lewis Cass, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Tipton didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lewis Cass in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 59-53 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lewis Cass' Luke Chambers, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be that much easier for Tipton to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
