The Franklinton Rams came tearing into Friday's contest with 18 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 69-30 win over Northern Nash. Franklinton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 24 points or more this season.
Leading Franklinton to victory were Mikayla Taborn and Asia Burton. Taborn scored 20 points along with two steals, while Burton scored 24 points along with five assists and four steals. Burton has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Rihanna Hunt, who scored ten points along with two blocks.
Franklinton pushed their record up to 19-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Northern Nash, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.
Franklinton will play host again and welcome Rocky Mount, where tip off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklinton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Rocky Mount likes a good challenge. As for Northern Nash, they will head out on the road to face off against Southern Nash at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
