They escaped with a win against Monroe Central by the margin of a single free throw, 51-50. That's another feather in the cap for Daleville, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Daleville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Koleman Newsome led the charge by scoring 13 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Newsome has scored at least 25% of Daleville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Leech, who scored 9 points along with 13 rebounds.
Daleville's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Monroe Central, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
