The Chalker Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Badger Braves at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Chalker will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Pymatuning Valley, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Wildcats walked away with a 14-11 victory over the Lakers on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Tatum Hudak made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and six unearned) runs off 12 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those doubles were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Morgan Strock was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Riley Ashcraft was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.
Chalker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pymatuning Valley only posted an OBP of .400.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Badger). Everything went their way against Harding on Thursday as they made off with a 16-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Skippers: they've now won eight in a row.
Samantha Bradbury made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Bradbury was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kyleigh Hall was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Riley Thomas, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Chalker pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Badger, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-4.
Chalker took their victory against Badger in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
