Last Monday, Allendale-Fairfax was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-53 to Calhoun County. Allendale-Fairfax has struggled against Calhoun County recently, as their matchup on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Ridgeland-Hardeeville, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 68-52 loss to Battery Creek on Friday. While losing is never fun, Ridgeland-Hardeeville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while Battery Creek is ranked 102nd).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Poncie Capers, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jabien Harris, who scored 14 points.
Even though they lost, Ridgeland-Hardeeville were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Allendale-Fairfax bumped their record down to 1-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Ridgeland-Hardeeville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Allendale-Fairfax didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Ridgeland-Hardeeville in their previous meeting last Monday, but they still walked away with a 48-43 victory.
