The Taylor Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a rough 67-43 defeat at the hands of Crescent City. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Taylor in their matchups with Crescent City: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Taylor saw an underclassman step up: James Thomas scored 19 points. Thomas scored a full 44.2% of Taylor's points, the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Kelly, who scored nine points.
Taylor has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Crescent City, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taylor will stay at home for another game and welcome First Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 11th. Crescent City won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Augustine at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. St. Augustine presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Crescent City in Florida (St. Augustine is ranked 283rd, while Crescent City is ranked 619th).
