The Ridgecroft Rams put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Albemarle School with a sharp 42-22 victory. Ridgecroft has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Ridgecroft was led to victory by Kate Chamblee and Makenzie Slaughter. Chamblee dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, while Slaughter scored 15 points along with six assists and two blocks. Chamblee hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Karley Jo Rose, who scored four points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Albemarle School struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Ridgecroft's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-0. As for Albemarle School, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.
Ridgecroft does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Albemarle School won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Lawrence Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday.
