Everything went their way against Nease as Providence School made off with a 49-26 win. Given Providence School's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Nease is ranked 167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Providence School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Mcabee, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Chris Arias was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
Nease's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Sullivan, who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Bryson Utter, who scored five points.
Providence School has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Nease, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.
Providence School will be playing in front of their home fans against Impact Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Impact Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. Nease on the road again on Friday and play against Bartram Trail at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th.
